Have you received the beta roll-out of the new Chromosome Painter at AncestryDNA? This new tool builds on the amazing technology behind SideView.
Here is where to look, to see if you have received the beta roll-out:
At ancestry.com, under the DNA tab in the main menu, select DNA Story.
Scroll down, look on the right side of the screen under Ethnicity inheritance, there will be a new section titled Chromosome painter Beta.
If this “Chromosome painter” title appears, you have access to the new beta feature! If it does not yet appear on your account, keep checking, as they are rolling it out in a staggered fashion. To navigate to the chromosome painter from this page, click on View Breakdown.
On the next page click Chromosome Painter.
There you will see something like the following, with a legend of ethnicity color coding:
Here you will get ethnicity inheritance estimates for you at the chromosome level, and the bonus here is that these estimates are also broken down by each of your parents! Click on Parent 1 and Parent 2 to view them individually.
